California Zephyr.  The mere mention of one of the great passenger trains of the Twentieth Century evokes the height of streamlined elegance on the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad.  Built in 1952, the Silver Quail traversed the great scenery of the Route of the Zephyrs for the Burlington until 1971, when it began over a quarter century of Amtrak service.  Purchased by its current owner in 1997, the Silver Quail retains its classic appearance while incorporating extensive improvements.  This eleven double-bedroom sleeping car features a private bath in each bedroom, a custom stainless shower at the vestibule end, and a compact but well-equipped kitchen with refrigeration, sink, microwave, and coffee maker.  For overnight travel across the state or across the country, the Silver Quail offers both comfort and elegance.
