Built in 1952 for the Pennsylvania Railroad's elite day train The Congressional as a parlor, the Henry Hudson was converted to a buffet/table configuration in 1986.  Acquired in partnership by Heritage Rail and Mid America in 2005, the Henry Hudson is unparalleled in the private railroad car world for its food service versatility.

Completely rebuilt to Amtrak standards, the Henry Hudson features booth seating for 32 as well as a full-length serving buffet.  From commissary, snacks, and gift shop services to five-course dining experiences, the Henry Hudson's amenities can facilitate food and commissary service for an entire train.  The buffet area features extensive refrigeration and storage, a steam table, microwave, coffee and bar service, a freezer, several ovens, tray and service storage, and wash and preparation sinks.
